Our Story
Records on Main opened its doors in April 2025 in the heart of downtown Littleton, Colorado—but the dream started long before that. For years, Marshall worked as an optician in New York City, but his heart was always in music. When the opportunity came to open a record store in downtown Littleton, he knew it was time to turn that lifelong passion into reality.
His daughter Cassie had just been laid off from her marketing role in Los Angeles—timing that felt serendipitous. With over 12 years of experience in performance marketing and growth analytics, Cassie saw an opportunity to merge her marketing expertise with their shared passion for music while building a community-centered business alongside her father. Records on Main became the perfect intersection of professional skills and personal values.
But the road to opening wasn't smooth. Just two weeks before the scheduled opening, Marshall was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that left him in the ICU for two weeks, followed by a month-long hospital stay. Initially planning to contribute remotely from Los Angeles, Cassie didn't hesitate—she packed up, moved back to Denver, and committed herself fully to making sure they opened on time. Along with her brother Denver, they worked around the clock to bring their dad's vision to life.
The community response was extraordinary. When the accident forced a delay and left them covering rent without revenue, they launched a Kickstarter campaign. Friends, family, neighbors, and even complete strangers rallied behind them, showing that Records on Main was already becoming something meaningful to people before the doors even opened for the first time. That early support didn't just help financially—it showed them they were building something the community truly wanted.
